Swiss Racing reduces gap in the TMG GT86 Cup

Even after the sixth VLN race, the fight for the overall victory in the TMG GT86 Cup remains open. The Toyota Swiss Racing Team with Manuel Amweg and Frédéric Yerly, both from Switzerland, dominated the championship leader Milltek Racing with drivers Dale Lomas, Lucian Gavris and Werner Gusenbauer.

With a time of 9:48.430 minutes, the Swiss Racing Team had already set fastest time in the qualifying. The pole setter then achieved an unchallenged start-finish victory in the race. “We used slick tyres throughout the complete race. Indeed, there were some critical moments but finally this was an essential factor as three quarters of the track were dry”, said Manual Amweg and he added: “Moreover, we were able to pass a slower competitor right at the beginning in front of Hatzenbach and thus managed to move away from the field. After three hours, we had already gained an advantage of about three minutes compared to our rivals.”

Finishing in second position and gaining 17 points, Milltek Racing was nevertheless able to defend their lead with now 103 points, followed by the Toyota Swiss Racing Team with a score 94 points in second place. The top three in VLN race 6 were completed by the Team Ring Racing with Ulf Wickop and Klaus Völker who are now in sixth position in the TMG GT86 Cup classification with 52 points. After six of nine races, the TMG GT86 Cup thus further promises a lot of tension.
